OUR STORY
Maddie saw Ryan on Tinder only hours after first signing up, and immediately swiped right. Nothing happened. Meanwhile, Ryan possessing an ability to view matches that had selected him, deliberated. Wanting to fully vet Maddie, and really process what he was potentially getting himself into, put her in his waiting queue for one full day (that exact length is still debated to this day). Finally, Ryan coming to his senses swiped right, presenting both with an "It's a match" message.
After only a few minutes of talking, Ryan was able to convince Maddie to take a break from her medical board studies to meet at Jeni's. If you know Maddie's affinity for ice cream, it actually didn't take much convincing. Sweet flavors were consumed, words exchanged, eventually culiminatating in an agreement for a first real date. Three days later, on Oct. 16th, Maddie and Ryan went on their first date at Basi Italia. Shortly thereafter, Tinder accounts were deleted and as they say, the rest is history.
Please note, there is no vehicle parking allowed at the ranch. Transportation to the event will be provided.

Taking the Scenic Route - Independence Pass
There are two ways to get to Aspen from presumably Denver - I-70, Gleenwood Springs and CO 82, or I-70 + Independence Pass. The latter option presents you with an incredible opportunity to take one of the most scenic drives in the United States. The combination of light snow on the peaks and the turning of the leaves may make it the most beautiful time to drive it during the year. It will take you, sans stops, 40 extra minutes vs. taking the normal I-70 route. If you elect to head this way, take a capable car just in case and check the weather forecast along with the resources below for road status. I would not recommend first-timers driving this route through any mild amount of snow.

What To Do In Aspen
Aspen is the life to live, see how much there is to give. See how strongly you believe, see how much you may receive.
- John Denver
Maddie and her family have been coming to Aspen since she was a young girl. They first came for the skiing, then eventually stayed for summers too. In many ways it is a second home to them.
Aspen means a lot of things for each of them. Maddie, Boozie, Billy, and Ryan (the newbie) have each come up with how they would spend their day in Aspen. Check out their personalized experience below.
THe merfect day
Wake up with the sun, drive to a trailhead and take an amazing hike
Crater Lake: (seen in the background of this picture) Moderate intensity 3.5 mile out and back hike. If feeling good, head up an additional 2 miles to the rim for a magnificent view of Maroon Bells (pictured here). Trailhead at Maroon Lake parking area.
Lost Man Lakes: Moderate intensity 5.5 mile out and back hike. First take fantastic pictures on the top of Independence Pass on your way to the trailhead. Trailhead is Lost Man Loop.
Once you have completed your hike, head back to the hotel for a hot tub and steam before dinner.
Lindsey and I went up to Aspen and we went to somebody's incredible house and they had a piano and I had my guitar with me and I went in their living room, looking out over the incredible Aspen sky and I wrote 'Landslide.'
- Stevie Nicks
The Perfect Boozie Day
Wake up with room service and read the paper on the porch.
Head to breakfast at Poppycocks.
After finishing a plate of huevos rancheros, head out on a leisurely hike or bike ride.
Weller Lake Trail: Easy 1.1 mile out and back trail to a gorgeous lake (seen on the left). Drive approximately 9 miles east of Aspen on Highway 82 just past Weller Campground.
Ditch Trail: Easy 4.3 mile out and back trail in Snowmass (seen on the right). Gorgeous views of the changing leaves.
Bicycle Rentals:
Once you have rented a bicycle hop on the Rio Grande Trail, cruise down valley listening to the river's rapids.
End your day with a massage at the Little Nell
The Perfect Billy DAY
Although most of the courses will be closed, in a perfect world Billy would wake up early to play a round of 18 holes. Consider:
Aspen Municipal Golf Course: located two miles from downtown Aspen, accommodates all levels of play & is home to the Dede Cusimano Golf Academy
Book a tee time: https://www.aspengolf.com/
After you finish your round of golf, head back to Aspen and grab some refreshments at Silverpeak.
Once you have indulged, fill up on some truffle fries and a burger at Ajax Tavern. Finish off your meal with a cup of ice cream and cookies at Paradise Bakery.
Complete your afternoon with some cigars at Eric's Cigar Bar and reflect upon the birdies you made.
A Merry Munsch day
Plugging Into the Social Pipeline
In the place where the beer flows like wine, where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano (note Maddie makes annual ski trips), there isn't a better way to spend and forget a day than a good 'ole fashioned bar crawl. In any given wedding weekend Ryan would endeavor to walk away as the MVP, if he so happened to attend a wedding in Aspen the town would soon learn his liver is made of silver.
